Overview
NextMove! ("NextMove," "we," "us," or "our") is an English-language iOS and Android app that helps people plan outings around locations worldwide. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app and website collect, how that information is used, what is stored locally on your device, what may be sent to service providers, and how to contact us.
We designed the current version of NextMove! without user accounts. Most app settings, saved items, history, and photo memories are stored locally on your device unless you choose to share them or submit them as part of a plan request.
Android app
On Android, preferences, saved plans, spots, history, and memory photos are stored in the app's local storage. Photos are not uploaded by the memory feature. Camera access is optional. You can type a destination or choose "Use my location." That optional action requests Android's approximate location permission for a one-time city lookup using Google Play location services and Android geocoding. The lookup stops when it finishes, you cancel, you type a different destination, or you leave the screen. We save the resolved city and its map coordinates, not the device's location fix. NextMove does not request precise or background location permission and does not track your location in the background. Denying location access does not prevent manual city selection. You can change permission in Android Settings at any time. Google Maps also collects app/device metadata, crash information, map interactions, IP addresses, and a pseudonymous SDK identifier to provide and improve its services.
Google Play processes Android subscriptions. RevenueCat receives purchase tokens, product and subscription status, and an anonymous app user identifier to validate and restore access. We do not receive your payment card details. Manage or cancel Android subscriptions in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
Plan requests, Scout messages and conversation context, entered destinations, filters, and stop feedback are sent to our backend and its AI and place-data providers to deliver the requested features. Event searches send the selected city coordinates and date range through our backend to Ticketmaster. Saved events stay on your device; choosing to plan around an event sends its venue, date, activity choices, and the details needed to create that plan. Ticket and venue links open the provider's site under its own privacy practices. An anonymous RevenueCat identifier is sent with requests to verify subscription access. Do not include sensitive personal information in Scout messages.
Android uses PostHog for explicit app-session, onboarding, feature-outcome, and subscription events, with anonymous installation identifiers and app/device information. RevenueCat and PostHog identifiers are linked to measure subscriptions. The Android version does not use AppsFlyer or Apple's tracking framework and does not collect the optional iOS age field. The Apple-specific descriptions below apply only to iOS. Google and our service providers may process network information, including IP addresses, when serving requests. You can request deletion of information we control at support.nextmove@gmail.com.
Information you provide
- Onboarding and profile details: optional display name and age, outing frequency, planning preference, discovery source, and notification preference.
- Plan filters: budget, group size, interests, a worldwide city, town, region, postal code, or country, distance radius, time available, custom time, and transport mode.
- Plan requests: optional TikTok URLs, custom remix requests, selected reroll/remix actions, and current plan details needed to modify or replace stops.
- Saved content: saved plans, saved spots, same-day plan history, completed stop status, photo notes, and photos you add to the Photos memory board.
- Support messages: information you choose to include when you email us for support or privacy questions.
Information stored on your device
The current app stores the following locally using iOS storage such as UserDefaults and the app's Application Support directory:
- Saved filter defaults, including the selected location and its normalized country, coordinates, currency, and measurement preference; current plan; TikTok link draft; and onboarding status.
- Saved plans, saved spots, and same-day plan history.
- Recently recommended stop names, addresses, and map links used to reduce repeated recommendations.
- Completed stops, photo notes, and photos you add to the Photos tab. These photos are stored locally by the app and are not uploaded by the Photos memory-board feature in the current version.
- Subscription access state cached locally after Apple/RevenueCat validation.
Deleting the app removes the local app data stored in the app container from that device. Data managed by Apple, RevenueCat, or other service providers is subject to their own retention practices.
Information sent when you generate or edit a plan
When you tap to generate, reroll, remix, replace a stop, verify a stop, or generate from a TikTok link, NextMove! sends the information needed to complete that request to our plan-generation backend. This may include:
- Your current filters and selected worldwide location, including its normalized display name, country code and name, destination coordinates, local currency code when available, and metric/imperial preference.
- Your age, if provided, to avoid recommending bars and nightclubs below our destination-based age cutoff. Skipping age leaves this preference unset.
- The selected action, such as generate, mystery, TikTok import, reroll, remix, or replace stop.
- The current plan and stop details when needed to remix, verify, or replace a stop.
- Optional keyword text, optional custom request text, and optional TikTok URL.
- Recently recommended stop names, addresses, and map links to avoid repeats.
Our backend uses AI and place-data services to create plans, verify places, add addresses, map links, venue photos when available, practical tips, estimated costs, timing, and travel context.
Location, maps, camera, and photos
Location: NextMove! asks you to type a city, town, region, postal code, or country anywhere in the world. The app geocodes that text into a normalized place and destination coordinates so it can verify nearby venues, enforce the selected radius, choose distance units, and estimate local-currency costs. Those coordinates describe your selected destination. If you choose the optional current-location shortcut, a one-time location lookup first resolves your city; Android requests approximate access only, as described above. The current app does not request continuous GPS location and does not track your background location.
Maps: the Plan tab uses Apple MapKit to display maps and routes based on the plan and location you enter. Apple may process map-related information under Apple's privacy practices. Apple geocoding services may also process the location text you enter to resolve the selected place.
Camera and photo library: if you choose to add a memory photo, the app may ask for camera access or use Apple's photo picker. Photos and notes you add to the Photos tab are stored locally in the current version. The app does not require photo access to generate plans.
TikTok links: if you paste or share a TikTok URL, the app sends the URL to the plan-generation backend so it can attempt to identify a venue, neighborhood, or outing idea. The app does not ask for your TikTok account password.
Purchases and subscriptions
NextMove! Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. RevenueCat helps us validate purchase and subscription entitlement status. We do not receive or store your full payment card number.
Apple and RevenueCat may process identifiers, purchase receipts, subscription status, product IDs, renewal state, and related diagnostics needed to provide, restore, and manage purchases.
Advertising attribution and subscription measurement
We use AppsFlyer to measure which advertising campaigns lead to app installs and subscriptions. This includes installation and device identifiers, app and device information, IP address, campaign and ad identifiers when available, and events such as onboarding completion and checkout. RevenueCat sends subscription events to AppsFlyer, including purchases, renewals, cancellations, expirations, billing issues, product changes, and refunds where supported, with product identifiers, transaction timing, currency, and revenue amounts. A random installation identifier connects these events to the app installation.
We request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission before enabling advertising-identifier collection and partner sharing for cross-app advertising measurement. If you allow tracking, AppsFlyer may share attribution and conversion information with configured advertising partners such as TikTok to measure and improve our ads. If you decline or restrict tracking, we disable advertising-identifier collection and block partner sharing of our SDK and RevenueCat events. Privacy-preserving aggregate measurement may still be available through Apple's attribution systems. Your choice does not affect subscription access or app features. You can change it in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
We do not send your profile name, typed location, photos, plan content, or pasted social links as advertising events. RevenueCat processes subscription information to provide and restore access regardless of tracking permission. See the AppsFlyer Services Privacy Policy and RevenueCat Privacy Policy for information about these providers.
Anonymous product analytics
NextMove! uses PostHog to understand whether the onboarding and subscription flow works. The app sends only explicit funnel events, such as onboarding version and step progress, selected answer categories, demo interactions, paywall pages and plan selection, purchase-result categories, and whether the first plan succeeded or failed. We also record anonymous access-status and feature outcome categories. If you provide your age, we include your age and age range in these events and share them with RevenueCat to measure trial starts and paid conversions by age. You can choose “Prefer not to say” or remove your age in Account settings; future events will omit it. Previously recorded events are not automatically erased by changing this setting. We do not send this age information to AppsFlyer or advertising partners. PostHog may also attach standard app and device properties, such as app version, operating-system version, and device type, and uses a random anonymous identifier to distinguish app installations.
PostHog analytics events do not include your name, typed location or coordinates, URLs, venue names, TikTok content, or image data. We disable automatic screen capture, interaction capture, lifecycle events, surveys, feature flags, session replay, rage-click capture, and crash autocapture. We do not use this data to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Advertising attribution through AppsFlyer is described separately above.

We expect service providers to protect information they process for us and to use it only for providing their services, subject to their own privacy policies and legal obligations.
Website data
When you visit this website, hosting providers may process standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, referring page, requested URL, and timestamps to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and maintain security. The current website does not require an account.
Our link page (getting you to the app stores and guides) counts page views and button clicks without cookies. To estimate unique daily visitors, a one-way hash of your IP address and browser details, combined with a secret that changes daily, is stored instead of the IP address or browser details themselves, and cannot be used to identify you or follow you across days or sites. This data is hosted on Supabase and used only to understand which links are useful.
Legal bases in certain regions
Where privacy law requires a legal basis, we process information as needed to provide the features you request and perform our agreement with you; for our legitimate interests in securing, maintaining, and improving the Service; with your consent where requested, such as optional camera access or notifications; and as needed to comply with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent through the relevant iOS setting or by contacting us, without affecting earlier processing.
International processing
NextMove! and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries that may have different data-protection laws from where you live. Service providers handle information under their own terms, privacy policies, and applicable transfer mechanisms. Contact us if you have questions about international processing related to information we control.
AI-generated content and safety
NextMove! uses AI and third-party place data. Recommendations, venue details, hours, prices, availability, photos, accessibility information, route estimates, and travel times may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. You should verify important details with the venue, map provider, transit provider, or other official sources before going anywhere.
Children's privacy
NextMove! is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Data retention and deletion
- Local app data: delete the app to remove locally stored preferences, saved items, plan history, completed stops, photo notes, and local photo files from that device.
- Plan-generation requests: request data may be processed by our backend and service providers to deliver the feature, debug failures, and maintain service reliability.
- Purchases: Apple and RevenueCat retain purchase and entitlement information according to their policies and legal requirements.
- Product analytics: PostHog retains anonymous funnel events according to our workspace settings and its service terms. These events do not contain the user-entered content excluded above.
- Support email: we retain support messages as long as needed to respond, resolve issues, and keep reasonable business records.
Because the current app does not use NextMove accounts, there is no account dashboard. You can request deletion of information we control by emailing us. We may need to retain limited information when required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or billing reasons.
Your choices
- Do not submit optional keywords, TikTok URLs, or custom request text.
- Use iOS settings to manage camera permission.
- Delete local saved items and photos in the app where deletion controls are available.
- Delete the app to remove local app-container data from your device.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal information we control, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have a right to appeal a response or complain to your local data-protection authority. To make a request, email us using the contact information below. We may need to verify the request and may retain information when permitted or required by law.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
